Get Rid of Toothache and Relieve Pain at Home in Just a Few Minutes

Nowadays, many people suffer from toothache. The main reason for this condition is tooth decay, which is a result of enamel-eroding acids. These acids are produced by oral bacteria in the mouth, which feed upon the sugars and starches found in the food intakes. A sticky plaque that sticks to the surface of the teeth is formed by these bacteria.

Here are some ways that you can try at home and get rid of the toothache:

1. Ginger

Take a piece of fresh ginger root and soak it in water for a while. Then, gargle with this water for a few minutes.

2. Oil pulling

Swish around two tablespoons of oil in your mouth for 20 minutes. This procedure will lower the amount of bacteria in your mouth. Thereby, it will reduce the chance of getting tooth infection.  It is also useful for treating bad breath and yellow teeth.

3. Garlic

Crush a garlic clove or mix some garlic powder with table salt. Rub this mixture directly on an infected tooth. The pain will disappear after using this procedure for a couple of days.

4. Tea bags

Astringent tannin which is contained in black tea is quite beneficial for treating toothache. It can reduce swellings and relieve pain.

5. Peppermint leaves

You can reduce toothache by just chewing some peppermint leaves. Although, the best for this purpose are the fresh leaves, the dried ones can also do the work.

6. Guava leaves

Just chew a couple of guava leaves and the pain will be eliminated. Also, you can boil some water, put guava leaves in it, add some salt, and leave it to cool. Then, use it for washing your mouth.

7. Cloves

Take olive, or any vegetable oil, and mix it with 2 shattered cloves. Apply this mixture directly on the infected tooth. Also, you can make a homemade mouth wash water by mixing few drops of clove oil with some water.

8. Salt and pepper

Mix equal amount of salt and pepper with a little bit of water. Rub this paste on the painful tooth and leave it for a few minutes.

9. Ice cube packs

Put some crushed ice into a gauze and put it next to your jaw or cheek. Also, you can put a crushed ice cube in your mouth and leave it to melt. Or, you can gargle for a couple of minutes with icy cold water.

10. Turmeric

Mix few drops of mustard oil with ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and you will get a solid paste. Apply this paste on your cavity, keep it for 15 minutes, and then spit it out. Use this method regularly to get rid of cavity pain.

11. Salt and water

Warm some water and mix it with one tablespoon of salt. Use this water as a mouthwash. It will relieve pain, and reduce inflammation, and swelling.
